The Jedi Master was a master of more than the Force. You can learn a few lessons from the little green man about how to run a business.
You already know about the patience part. It takes a long time to master the Force or build a successful business. When you set out on your own, you already know that the process is a marathon.
Don’t get discouraged when you don’t see results as soon as you’d like to. If your work was easy, everyone would do it. You have to be patient with new team members, new customers, old team members, old customers, and especially the computer. When the Internet doesn’t load straight away, it’s just a chance for you to grow young padawan.
Don’t Be Afraid to Get Your Hands Dirty
Yoda lived in a swamp. No need to get that dirty. Yoda was also not afraid to take out his light-sabre and fight in the Clone Wars himself.
There are some days where you have to be on the front lines of your business more than you’d like, but that’s the part that separates the wheat from the chaff. Let’s not forget that even when Yoda knew that Luke wasn’t ready, he was the one that lifted the X-Wing from the swamp for his escape.
Yoda had many words to remind the Jedi to believe in themselves. Whether you are battling competitors or leading your knights, you have to believe in yourself and instil that same confidence in those you lead.
When Luke headed into the cave, he was reminded that he would only face what he brought in there. Business is the same; you have the power to be successful, you just have to believe it for yourself.
Use the Force
Remember these three lessons from Yoda, and you’re well on your way to being a Jedi Master in your own right.
May the Force be with you.
